GPD produced at factor cost will be a thing of the past. In conforming will international guidelines and regulations, the Central Statistical Office production of Gross Domestic Product will be at market prices. From March 2006, any expression of GDP will be at market prices. For the benefit of users who may require to do analysis with the aggregate stated at factor cost, the department will endeavor to float two statistics, GDP market prices and GDP at basic prices.

The Statistics Department is working towards providing online the National Income Inquiry questionnaire for business establishments  to complete online.
A new household budget survey is currently being conducted by the CSO. The data capture exercise is expected to end by December 17th, 2005. Processing of the information collected will commence in January 2006. Information from this survey is expected to be used to update the old CPI basket of Goods and Services.
